Ambroise Degenève is a contemporary jeweller living and working in Paris. When it came to his studies at HEAD, the Haute école d’art et de design, in Geneva, he wavered between architecture and jewellery, but it wasn’t long before the jewels won him over.
Ambroise is inspired by nature – but also by the nature of the jewel: its history, the techniques attached to it and its symbolism all fascinate him.
His recent creations combine stones (natural or synthetic) and cultured pearls with metal by electroforming.
"Through my work, I try to create hybrid pieces. Looking for codes and techniques from different periods in the history of jewelry. The anachronism becomes a way of working."
Freshwater pearls, patinated copper and 18ct gold ear wires.
